This morning we were surprised to find out that the pub and the town Walkabout Creek in the movie Crocodile Dundee are actually Mckinlay QLD. We recognised it as we drove through Mckinlay on the way to Winton. I'd assumed it was near Kakadu or Arnhem Land in the NT.
Of course we had to stop. Unfortunately neither Mick nor Walter were around, but Matt and I had a drink at the bar just for fun. We had to do a bit of fast talking to get Matt in; there was a sign on the door advising that children were only allowed to enter in the company of a respectable adult! The two of us enjoyed looking through the photos and the truck outside.
The funny thing was that the boys watched a movie while we travelled this morning, and you guessed it... it was Crocodile Dundee!
